In 2025, Mezcal with Friends brought together two of D.C.’s most celebrated bartenders for a night dedicated to agave, craft, and community: Kapri Robinson and Clinth Lopez.

Kapri Robinson, founder of Chocolate City’s Best, host of Soul Palate Podcast, and star of Netflix’s Drink Masters, joined us fresh off being named Best American Bartender at Tales of the Cocktail in 2024, with her team earning Best American Bar Team in 2025. At Allegory, she built one of the city’s most awarded bar programs, blending storytelling, precision, and cultural depth into every glass.

Clinth Lopez, senior bartender at Silver Lyan, brought his globally informed technique and thoughtful style to the table. Silver Lyan has been recognized among North America’s Top 50 Bars and named Best American Cocktail Bar in 2020. Prior to D.C., Clinth held a leadership role during Lyaness’ New York residency and refined his craft at Michelin-starred Bresca, Jônt, and Albi.

The evening unfolded with expressive agave pours, inventive cocktails, and a room full of friends gathered around the table.
